How to Use Leapster Max in Leapster2
Leap Frog produces many portable handheld learning systems for children, including the Leapster L-Max and Leapster2. Many parents will purchase more than one handheld system, and each system comes with its own set of games and learning software cartridges. To keep parents from having to purchase new games for each system, Leap Frog made the L-Max and Leapster2 titles interchangeable. However, there is a limit on what you can do with L-Max titles on a Leapster2 system.

Find a Leapster cartridge that is compatible with both the L-Max and Leapster2. These systems are compatible with Leapster L-Max cartridges, Leapster and Leapster2 cartridges. Leapster Explorer cartridges will not work on either system.

Insert a Leapster L-Max cartridge into the cartridge slot on the top of the Leapster2.

Power on the Leapster2. The device will detect the inserted cartridge. Follow the prompts to play the game in handheld mode. Many of the L-Max cartridges will not work while the Leapster2 is connected to the TV.
