How to Make the YouTube Video Small on Your Tumblr

Tumblr's microblogging platform provides easy methods for posting different types of media, including single images, image slideshows, uploaded videos, embedded videos, quotes, links, chats and audio. When you use these automatic post features, you have less control over how your media appears in your post, which is why you can't change the size of the YouTube player when you embed a video through the Video post feature. If you want to make the YouTube player smaller, you need to insert the embed code into a Text post.

Instructions

1. Navigate to YouTube.com and locate the video you want to post to your Tumblr blog. Click the "Share" button just under the video and then click the "Embed" button. Copy the HTML embed code.

2. Navigate to Tumblr.com and log in to your account.

3. Click the "Text" icon in your Dashboard to create a new text post. You must embed the video in a text post if you want to reduce its size.

4. Click the "HTML" link in the "Post" toolbar and then paste your HTML embed code into the HTML window.

5. Locate the "Height" and "Width" in your HTML embed code. Reduce these numbers to fit your desired size. Click the "Update" button.

6. Click the "Create Post" button to create your post.
