How to Draw Rocker Cartoons
Rock musicians are often referred to as rockers. You can draw rockers in your artwork by adding elements associated with rock music, such as an instrument, long hair and clothing. Whether you draw a male or female character, adding any of these elements will allow you to create a variety of rocker cartoons.

Draw an oval shape for the head, then draw a line around the oval for hair. Draw the hair line wavy and bring the lines down on each side of the head to create the typical long-hair rocker look. The lines should extend to about where you will draw shoulders. Extend the lines in a wide arch around the head to create the 80s hair band look.

Draw two slits to make closed eyes, then add a vertical line beginning between the eyes and just below them. Extend this line toward the bottom of the oval and bring it to a slight outward curve just above where the mouth will be to make the nose. Draw a simple line with each end curved up to create a smiling mouth. Add an arched line over each eye for eyebrows.

Begin your figure with a light stick drawing to set the composition, then add the details later. Draw a simple rocker/guitar player pose. Draw a vertical line for the body, then draw a line on each side for the arms. Draw one of these lines with a bend where the elbow will be and at about waist level. Draw the other arm with a bend where the elbow will be and positioned so the hand will be about shoulder level.

Draw two lines for the legs, angled out to the sides to allow you to create your character in a rock stance, with legs wide apart. Draw an oval shape at the end of each leg for the feet.

Draw a guitar at an angle across the front of your rocker. Draw the angle at 45 degrees, bringing the neck of the guitar in line with the raised arm and the body of the guitar at about waist level on your rocker. Shape the body of the guitar as an oval and draw two small circles near the bottom edge for volume controls. Draw a small rectangle in the center of the guitar body for a pick up, then draw six lines running from the body of the guitar along the neck for the strings. Draw a small oval at the end of the neck for the tuning head and draw three small circles on each side of the tuning head for tuning keys.

Fill in your rocker's body. Go back over the parts of the stick figure that are exposed outside the guitar and thicken the lines to give the body a full shape. Draw outward curved lines at the bottom of the feet to create bell bottom pants. Add a high heel on your rocker's boots.

Color your cartoon with marker or color pencils. Choose whatever colors you wish, but pick bright versions of your colors for more of a cartoon effect.
