How to Speed Read With a Kindle
The Kindle, an e-reader from Amazon, displays e-books on an E Ink display. You flip pages using two buttons located on each side of the device and can make minor changes to the book, such as increasing the font size and changing the screen orientation. Speed reading, the act of reading text quickly, is different when using an electronic reader versus a paper book, though it's still possible once you learn to work seamlessly with the device.

1
Click the "Aa" button to access the text-size menu. Use the left and right arrow keys to choose a new text size that you can read without straining and that fits nicely on your Kindle's screen. Then click the center "Select" button. Read a couple pages, and then adjust the size if necessary. Small text will reduce the number of page turns necessary, increasing your overall reading speed.

2
Press the "Aa" button to view the screen orientation options, and use the arrows keys to choose one. Landscape orientation decreases the height and increases the width of the text, and is ideal if you read faster moving your eyes horizontally. Determine which screen orientation works best for you.

Time the delay between the last word you read on the page and how long it takes the Kindle to flip to the next page, and then turn the page that many seconds sooner. For example, if it takes your Kindle two seconds to flip the page, practice pressing the page flip button two seconds before you reach the end of the page.
