How to Move Eyepoint Back in FSX

Save

Microsoft's Flight Simulator X uses virtual cockpits---high-fidelity 3-D representations of an aircraft's control panels. The default viewpoint in the virtual cockpit, known as the eyepoint, can be moved to give you a different view to replicate moving forward or backwards in the seat or leaning up to look over the dashboard for better visibility. To move the eyepoint, make use of FSX's built-in eyepoint commands.

  • Launch Microsoft Flight Simulator X. Wait for the game to finish loading; the eyepoint can only be changed when you are actually inside a virtual aircraft.

  • Ensure that you are in the virtual cockpit view by right-clicking anywhere on the screen, and then clicking "cockpit" and "virtual cockpit." You should see a 3-D cockpit, allowing you to pan the view by using the number pad on your keyboard.

  • Hit the "Control" and "Enter" keys simultaneously to move the eyepoint backwards. Keep hitting "Control" and "Enter until you're satisfied with the eyepoint's new position. To move it forward again, press "Control" and "Backspace."
