You can download Skype from Apple's App Store to your iPod Touch.

If you're used to running Skype on your computer to make voice calls and video calls to people over the Internet, you may want to also use Skype on your iPod. Apple makes four models of iPods: the shuffle, nano, classic and touch, and only the iPod touch connects to the Internet, as of June 2011. The iPod touch has two built-in cameras for making video calls, and it accesses the Internet via Wi-Fi, enabling you to download Skype directly to the device.

Instructions

    • 1

Press the "Home" button, below the touch-sensitive display of your iPod touch.

    • 2

Tap "Settings" on the home screen, and then tap "General." Tap "Wi-Fi," and then tap the "Wi-Fi" setting to "On." Tap the "Ask to Join Networks" setting to "On."

    • 3

Move to within range of a Wi-Fi network, such as your home or business computer network, or a public access site such as a restaurant or library. The iPod touch automatically looks for Wi-Fi networks to join. Type a password if required at the prompt to join a Wi-Fi network.
