It's easy to use GIMP to make one of these into the Annoying Orange.

One of the most popular set videos found on the Internet is the Annoying Orange series. These videos show a human mouth and eyes applied to a talking orange. If you would like to recreate single image versions of this effect for gag cards to friends or other purposes, you will need a graphics program to do it. You might think that this would require the use of a program like Photoshop, but you can do the job with the freeware application GIMP.

Instructions

    • 1

Load an image of yourself and an orange onto your computer. The image of yourself should show you with an open mouth.

    • 2

Start GIMP. Select "File" from the menu and choose "Open." In the dialog that appears, locate and open the image of the orange.

    • 3

Select "File" from the menu and choose "Open." In the dialog that appears, loacte and open the image of yourself.

    • 4

Select the "Path" tool from the toolbar and use it to draw a path around the left eye in the image. You want to get some of the skin around the eye.

    • 5

Go to the tool options and click on "Selection from Path." Then select "Edit" and click "Copy."

    • 6

Go to the image of the orange, select "Edit" and click "Paste." Use the "Move" and "Scale" tool to place the eye where you want it on the orange.

    • 7

Select the "Eraser" tool from the toolbar and in the options choose one of the "Fuzzy" brushes. Use it to erase the edges of the skin around the eye, leaving a slight fade.

    • 8

Repeat this process to bring in the other eye and the mouth. Save your work.
