How to Decoupage a Photo
Decoupage is the process of affixing a photograph to any surface using a thin layer of glue and sealing it using varnish. Before attempting this process be sure to work in a well ventilated area, and that the picture you select for the process you have multiple copies of, if you want to put a copy in a frame. Once the picture has the varnish on it, you will not be able to remove it from the surface.

Apply a thin layer of decoupage glue to the back of the photograph. Apply it using a small paint brush and be sure that the glue covers the entire back of the picture, right to the corners.

Place the picture on the sanded wood and use a roller to work out any air bubbles between the picture and the wood. Allow the picture to dry for four to six hours.

Apply three to five coats of varnish using a different brush once the picture has dried. Allow each coat of varnish to dry before applying the next coat. Once the coats have thoroughly dried you can place your finished work in your home.
