Use a slogan that reinforces your brand promise.

A slogan is a great way to sign off in a letter; it leaves the reader with a reminder of you and your brand. If your company has an existing slogan that is graphically designed, create a JPEG or GIF file to insert it at the end of business letters and correspondence. Alternatively, create a new slogan in just a few easy steps. Complete it yourself with popular software programs such as Microsoft Word and PowerPoint in no time at all.

Instructions

    • 1

Write a slogan that summarizes your services, such as "Safe. Dependable. Reliable." for a home repair company, or "From Our Oven to Your Door in 30 Minutes--Or It's Free!" for a slogan packed with a promise for a restaurant that delivers pizzas.

    • 2

Experiment with different font treatments for your slogan in either Microsoft Word or PowerPoint. Type the slogan in a standard font, such as Arial, using a larger font size such as 18 or 20 point. See how it looks with different typefaces, sizes and colors.

    • 3

Select the one design style from your experimentation that you feel best embodies the look and style you want your slogan to convey.

    • 4

Save the final slogan treatment as a JPEG and as a GIF picture file so that you have choices and options for other uses. Use the "Save As" option and select "JPEG" or "GIF" in file types. Give the file a name that you can easily remember.

    • 5

Create your letter using Microsoft Word. Scroll down to the end of the letter and place your cursor where you want to insert the slogan. Click on the "insert" tab, and locate your saved JPEG or GIF for the slogan. Select the file, right click your mouse and it will appear on the bottom of your letter. Make sizing adjustments, if needed, so that the slogan appears in the page position (left, right or center). Give the letter a name and save the file. Print a copy to see how it looks. Continue making adjustments (if needed) until the slogan appears the way you want.

Tips & Warnings

  • Save the document as a template for future use. Set the page to save the slogan in the footer section so that recipients will not be able to adjust or alter the slogan.
