How to Remove Links Under a Post in WordPress

The blogging platform WordPress provides an incentive for bloggers to link to other bloggers' posts within their own blogs. This creates a link, known as a "trackback," that appears below the post to which the original blogger linked, which displays the name of the original blog to readers of the second blog, exposing the original blog to a new audience. Delete trackback links sent by scam websites that don't appear to have any connection with your blog.

Instructions

    • 1

Log in to WordPress using your username and password. Scroll down through your dashboard until you get to the "Recent Comments" pane. Trackback links display as comments, so this is where you find them.

    • 2

Click the "View All" button below your most recent comments to display all the comments you've received on your blog. Scroll through the comments until you find the trackback you want to delete.

    • 3

Hover your mouse beneath the text of the trackback to view your options. Click "Trash" to delete the trackback permanently, "Unapprove" to remove it temporarily or "Spam" to delete it and to report it as spam, which prevents that website from tracking back to yours in the future.
