How to Make Spells to Increase Attack Rates on "Warcraft 3"

"Warcraft III" is a real-time strategy game made by Blizzard Entertainment. Players control armies led by heroes and fueled by towns that supply resources. An attack rate is the number of attacks a unit performs per minute. Berserk, for example, is a default spell in "Warcraft III" that increases the attack rate of the caster. "Warcraft III" editors let you customize any portion of the game, from the terrain to the spells. With the "Warcraft III" World Editor you can make your own spells that increase attack rates.

      Open the "Warcraft III" World Editor.

      Click the "Object Editor" icon in the menu bar.

      Right click on "Berserk" from the list of default spells. Select "Copy Ability" in the dialogue box that appears.

      Paste the spell into the "Custom Ability" folder.

      Click the "Buffs/Effects" button. Click the "Berserk" icon in "Custom Abilities." The list of Buffs and Effects will appear in the dialogue box on the right. Click on "Art--Target." Change the artwork that occurs when the spell is triggered to anything in the list of animations that appears. A fire animation would work well.

      Click the "Abilities" button again. Select the Beserk icon. Change the name from "Berserk" to anything you want. Make the name suggest increase attack speed. "Frenzy" or "Speed Burst" would work well.

      Scroll down the list of conditions in the right panel. Look for "Attack Speed." Change the default Attack Speed to whatever you want. Change this for all three levels of the attack speed. Change the Mana cost and Icon of the new spell if you wish.

      Click on the "Heroes" folder. Click on a hero. Click on the "Ability" line in the list of attributes of the hero. Add your custom ability to the hero's spellbook. Press "OK."
