How to Solve a Clue Scroll in RuneScape
The online game "RuneScape" has many activities for players to participate in, including chopping down the Evil Tree, mining a Shooting Star and going on a treasure hunt in the Treasure Trails minigame. To begin the Treasure Trails minigame, you must obtain a Clue Scroll, which you can receive as a drop from a wide variety of monsters. A Clue Scroll can require you to perform several tasks, including unscrambling an anagram, following a set of coordinates and fighting high-level monsters. To solve a Clue Scroll, you must follow the instructions printed on the scroll.

Travel to a bank and withdraw your Clue Scroll, a spade, sextant, watch, chart, several methods of teleport (Runes, enchanted jewellery and a Dramen or Lunar Staff), money and energy potions or a Spirit Terrorbird. If your Clue Scroll is a Hard or Elite Clue Scroll, withdraw several prayer potions, high-healing food, Super Antipoison Potions, your armour and a weapon.

Click the Clue Scroll to discover the location of your next clue. You might receive coordinates, the scrambled name of a NPC, a riddle that you must solve, a map containing an "X" or a puzzle.

Solve a coordinate clue using a sextant, watch and chart. Travel to the coordinate's location and dig the designated spot using a spade.

Solve a map clue by identifying landmarks and using your World Map. Dig the "X" with a spade to receive your next clue.

Solve sliding puzzles by completing the top row first. Complete the second and third row. Solve the four bottom-left boxes. Solve the bottom-right boxes.

Solve an anagram clue by unscrambling the name of a NPC. Travel to the NPC and talk to him to receive your next clue.

Solve a scan clue by teleporting to the general location described on the clue. Right-click the area and click "Scan." Use your spade on the location to dig at the indicated spot. In some clues, a wizard might attack. Kill the Wizard before receiving your next clue.

Solve an emote clue by equipping the required items and performing the desired emote. In some cases, a Double Agent might attack. Kill the Double Agent before receiving the next clue.

Complete the requirements of the final clue to receive your reward.

Tips & Warnings
If you do not have a sextant, watch or chart, you must speak to the Professor in the Observatory.
Easy Clue Scrolls contain between one and five clues.
Medium Clue Scrolls contain between one and six clues.
Hard Clue Scrolls contain between one and eight clues.
Elite Clue Scrolls contain between one and ten clues.
Each Clue Scroll is different and has different requirements to complete.
Many high-level Clue Scrolls lead players to areas that are unlocked by completing quests.
If you receive a clue that requires you to enter the Wilderness, take only the required items to complete the clue. The Wilderness is a dangerous place.
