Instructions

    • 1

Spread some hot glue on the front of a plastic headband that is about 1/2 inch wide. Press a decorative 3/4-inch wide ribbon on to the headband and trim the extra length of ribbon from the ends. Leave 1/4-inch ribbon hanging from the long edge of the headband. Wait 20 minutes for the glue to cool and harden.

    • 2

Cut 20 to 30 pieces of 3 mm necklace chain into 1/2-inch lengths with wire cutters. Thread a needle and tie the end of the thread around the end link of one of the pieces of chain. Run the needle through the ribbon that is extending from the edge of the headband to attach the chain to the ribbon.

    • 3

Run the needle through the ribbon and the last link of the chain about 10 times, tie the end and trim the excess thread. Do this across the headband with each piece of chain, making sure they are evenly spaced to create the fringe.

Open a jump ring and slip the end through the loop at the top of a pendant such as a coin, moon, star or jewel. Insert the open end of the jump ring through the chain fringe in the the middle of the headband and close the jump ring by pushing the two ends back together with pliers.
