How to Stop Getting Emails From Facebook Groups

How to Stop Getting Emails From Facebook Groups thumbnail
Group emails and notifications can add up to unwanted clutter in your inbox.

If you're a Facebook user who belongs to a group on the social-networking site, you know it's a place to meet with friends who share specific interests, with a level of exclusivity that doesn't exist with regular Facebook pages. When members of the group post comments, pictures or videos, Facebook sends out notifications by default. In a group setting with many members, this can quickly bloat your inbox and be a pain to sort through. Notification settings can be applied to your account to eliminate unwanted group email.

Instructions

    • 1

Log in to your Facebook account.

    • 2

Click the name of the group under your profile photo.

    • 3

Click "Edit Settings" on the right side of the page.

    • 4

Click the link that directs you "To turn off all group emails, edit your notifications settings."

    • 5

Control the mail you receive from the Facebook group by clicking "Change email settings for individual groups" under the "Groups" heading on the left.

    • 6

Uncheck the box next to the particular group or groups from which you no longer want to receive emails in the "Group Email Settings" pop-up window.

    • 7

      Click "Save Settings."
