How to Do Smileys for Skype
Skype is a well-known VoIP application that allows users to connect with each other and conduct Internet voice calls, but you can also use Skype as an instant messaging service to send text IMs back and forth, and even include smiley face graphics in your messages. Embedding smiley faces into messages is a built-in Skype feature, and requires no add-ons or external software.

Start the Skype application and sign in to your account.

Right-click a friend's username on your Contacts list and click "Send IM."

Click the smiley face icon directly above the text box on the left side of the Skype IM window. This displays a number of different smileys.

Insert a smiley face by clicking on it, then press the "Enter" key or click the blue chat bubble icon to send your message.
