How to Import AutoCAD Into SketchUp

Google Sketchup 7.1 can open AutoCAD drawings with the help of a free plugin.

Although the two programs do not overlap entirely, both Google's SketchUp and Autodesk's AutoCAD are drawing programs that you can use to render complex three-dimensional models. Although AutoCAD can save two-dimensional images of a drawing in certain SketchUp-friendly formats such as JPG, such files only import a single two-dimensional view of your AutoCAD model. In order to import an entire AutoCAD drawing into SketchUp, install a free Google plugin that provides native support for AutoCAD files in the SketchUp application.
