How to Edit a Tumblr Theme

Edit your Tumblr theme to fit your personality.

Tumblr is a micro-blogging site designed to allow you to post short updates, links, videos, audio files or images to your followers. Tumblr is easy to use -- and equally easy to customize the look and feel of your page. Tumblr accounts come packaged with a basic template that you can edit quite thoroughly using their customize feature. If you want to make more advanced changes, however, you can click the "Customize" button on your dashboard, then click the "Theme" tab and choose to "Use custom HTML."

Instructions

1. Sign into your Tumblr account to go to your dashboard.

2. Click "Account" on the top horizontal navigation bar.

3. Click "Preferences."

4. Click the "Customize your blog" button at the top of your page. This will open an editable version of your Tumblr page with an edit bar across the top.

5. Click into any of the menus on the edit bars to make changes. For example, click "Info" to open a box where you can change the title, description, URL or portrait photo associated with your page.

6. Click the green "Save" button to save changes. Click "Save + Close" when you are done customizing your page.
