How Do I Close My GameFAQs Account?

GameFAQs is an online gaming forum where users can post news and updates of the gaming industry, read game reviews or simply hang around with fellow gamers. If you no longer visit the website, you can close your GameFAQs account, making it completely unusable. Before you proceed, you must remove or alter all personally identifiable information from your GameFAQs profile. You also have the option of removing all your posts. After you have removed all the information, you can close the GameFAQs message board account. After 30 days of the closing of message board account, you have the option of completely deleting your account.

Instructions

1. Open the GameFAQs website and sign in by providing your username and password.

2. Click "Settings" from top right of the home page and remove or alter all your personally identifiable information from your profile. Some fields, such as your first and last name, cannot be left blank in the profile, so you can replace them with fake information if you like.

3. Delete all your un-archived posts manually. Visit each of these posts via the "Board Manager" tool and click the option to delete the post. The "Board Manager" tool is given in the "Boards" section, accessible from the top menu options.

4. Submit a request in the Feedback section to remove an archived post. In the form, provide information about the post, including the address (URL) of the post, message board account name and the message requesting the account to be closed. Click "Submit Message" to delete the archived post. GameFAQs administrators will get back to you in one or two days.

5. Fill in the GameFAQs message board account closure request form, also available in the Feedback section of the website. Provide the message board account name, login email and the message. Click the "Submit Message" button to submit your request.

6. Delete your account completely after 30 days of the closure of your message board account. The delete account form is also available in the Feedback section. Specify the account to delete, your email address, type "DELETE" in the confirmation field and enter your message, giving reasons for deleting the account. Click "Submit Message" button to confirm.

Tips & Warnings

• Archived posts cannot be removed manually; you have to submit a request in the Feedback section of the website to remove these posts.
