How to Get Limit Breaks in "FFVII"
"Final Fantasy VII" (FFVII) uses a combat system where the amount of damage you take is used to build up your strongest attack. These Limit Break attacks can be used once the appropriate bar is full, and they gain potency as the game goes on. You start off with a basic Limit Break skill and getting the bar full enough to use it is a matter of getting hit several times.

1
Begin a fight with any enemy in the game. Let them hit you at least once before you defeat them. You will see the bar marked "Limit" next to your name start to increase.
-
2
Attack more enemies and continue letting them hit you to cause your "Limit" bar to increase. Once the bar is full, you'll briefly have a new attack option in your list of attacks.

3
Use your Limit Break attack on an enemy. For example, Cloud's first Limit Break attack is called "Braver," and the Limit Breaks for each character all have a different name. When you use this attack, your "Limit" bar will become empty and you'll have to fill it to use your Limit Break again.

Tips & Warnings
You learn new Limit Breaks as you go. If Cloud uses "Braver" eight times, he'll learn "Cross-Slash," a stronger version of "Braver." You'll also learn brand new "Limit Break" attacks as you advance through the game.
