How to Delete a Yahoo SMS Number

Yahoo! Mobile allows you to use your mobile number to receive your Yahoo! Messenger messages as an SMS text message on your phone. This also allows you to receive Yahoo! alerts on your phone. Although this may sound great at first, you may be surprised by the magnitude of messages you receive on your phone. To stop this message bombardment, delete your Yahoo! SMS number.

Instructions

1. Log in to your Yahoo! Mobile account at sites.mobile.yahoo.com/wireless/mymobile.

2. Click the trashcan icon to the right of "Messenger Phone" under the "Other Mobile Devices" column.

3. Click "Delete Device" in the confirmation page. Your Yahoo! SMS number is then deleted.
