How to Make a Jesus Finger Puppet
Using finger puppets is a good way to tell Bible stories to your kids at home or in your Sunday school class at church. Finger puppets are simple to make and you can quickly make several characters to tell an entire story. Start by making a Jesus finger puppet as He is the central character in many of the New Testament stories. Use a variety of colors of felt to make your finger puppets. If the kids in your class are old enough you can make these Jesus finger puppets with them.

1
Trace an oval a little bit longer than your finger and twice as fat on a piece of felt. Cut out shoulders to shape your finger puppet about 1/3 of the way down from the top of the oval. Cut off the bottom of the oval to make a straight edge.
-
2
Use the first piece of cut felt as a template to cut out another piece exactly like it for the back of the finger puppet.

3
Cut different shapes out of black felt to create a mustache and beard like Jesus had. Leave an opening for the mouth.
-
4
Arrange the beard and mustache to the front of the puppet to start creating the face. Glue them in place.
-
5
Cut several 3-inch lengths of yarn. Lay these around the top of the head to form the hair. Glue these in place.
-
6
Glue the eyes on to complete the face.
-
7
Make some clothes for Jesus by cutting out larger pieces of felt to cover the bottom of the finger puppet. Cut out a robe-like covering following the shape of the remainder of the finger puppet body.
-
8
Add arms to the finger puppet by cutting arm shapes out of the felt. Glue these either to the front of the finger puppet or sew them in between the front and the back pieces.
-
9
Thread the needle with a length of thread. Complete the Jesus finger puppet by sewing the back to the front along the edges.
