How to Polish Your Car With a Polisher
Polishing your car with a polisher gives it the smoothest and most glossy finish possible. A polisher gently buffs away surface contaminants and blemishes while polishing the clear coat to a high shine. If you don't know how to use a polisher on your car, the finish can end up with swirl marks and dull areas. A polisher will give you professional results without a lot of hassle and money. The materials you need can all be found at a local auto part or paint store.

1
Park your car in the shade to keep the surface cool. Wash your car with car soap and a soft sponge. Use a water hose without a nozzle on the end to rinse the car and let it dry completely.
-
2
Pour a quarter-size amount of car polish onto a polishing pad on the high-speed polisher. Turn the polisher on and begin at the front of the car, working your way to the rear.

3
Move the polisher in small circular motions while the polisher moves and rotates. Keep the polisher moving and don't let it sit in one place longer than two seconds. Work the polish over the surface until it thins to a light haze. Do this to the entire car. Apply more polish as needed.

4
Remove the polishing pad from the polisher and replace it with a clean buffing pad. Work the buffing pad over the surface of the car to remove the dried polish off of the car. When you remove the dried polish, you can see the glossy finish on the car.
