How to Put Cuts in Eyebrows

Transform basic eyebrows into beauty statements by creating cuts.

Turn heads and make a beauty statement by cutting lines into your eyebrows. Eyebrows keep your eyes protected from sweat and dirt; therefore, avoid cutting them off completely. Instead, create intricate designs throughout the patch of hair just above the eyelid using basic beauty tools. The look of cut eyebrows is not uncommon, especially on the runway and in modeling campaigns with both males and females; However, models have professionals to trim and cut their eyebrows, while you are working solo. Use caution and care when designing and cutting your eyebrows, because they will be noticeable.

Things You'll Need

• Pencil
• Tweezers
• Brow comb
• Brow brush
• Grooming scissors
• Eyebrow clippers

Instructions

1. Trim, wax or tweeze your eyebrows into their perfect shape before beginning to cut. Your eyebrows have a natural design to them; therefore, avoid altering the shape, just trim it up a bit.

2. Find your natural shape using a pencil. Simply hold the pencil, snugly, against one side of your nose and up to your eyebrow. This is where your eyebrow should begin. Move the pencil to the outer corner of your eye. This is where your eyebrow will end. Tweeze or wax any stray hairs out of the natural brow line and underneath the natural line.

3. Comb your brow hair upward and use grooming scissors to trim any stray hairs. Brush through your eyebrow hair before cutting, to ensure the brows are even and trim.

4. Determine where you want the cuts to be in your eyebrows. You can place cuts anywhere in your eyebrow and in any direction.

5. Use eyebrow clippers to create even lines in your eyebrows. Eyebrow, or grooming clippers work similar to hair clippers -- plug it in and turn it on. You will not want to use a length guard, because the eyebrow hair is short and you want the lines to be noticeable.

6. Comb through your eyebrows using an eyebrow brush, and touch-up any areas. Repeat with the other brow.

• Have a friend help you make straight cuts with the grooming scissors.
