How to Get People to Join Your Page on Facebook
Your Facebook page can be a key asset for promoting services and driving traffic to your business; on the other hand, it can simply be a fun tool for any topic under the sun. The more people that join your page, the more fun it can be, but getting people to join can often seem an arduous task. As a Facebook page administrator, you are given some tools to help promote your page, but you can also advertise it yourself to give it a boost.

Open your Facebook page. If you're having trouble finding it, type the name of the page into the search bar on top, then select the correct page. As you're the administrator, it will be one of the first results.

Click "Suggest to Friends" from the sidebar on the left. Click the name/thumbnail photo of each friend you want to recommend your page. When a name is selected, its background will be changed to blue. When you have finished selecting all the names you want, click the blue "Recommend" button. The page will be displayed on your friends' sidebars and give them a chance to like it.

Return to your page's main screen, then right-click and copy the URL in your browser's address bar. With the URL saved, go to your own Facebook profile, then click "Link" to share a link like you would with any website. Paste your page's URL into the box, add any comment you want, then click "Share." Directly sharing the link on your profile can often bring more attention than the recommendation tool, so if you aren't getting many hits, consider sharing your page on your profile or doing both.

Click the "Edit Info" link right underneath your page's title. Look for the "Username" section on the settings page that appears. From here you can choose an easy-to-remember username for your Facebook page. For example, instead of a long and complicated URL, you can create a new one that may say, "http://facebook.com/mypagetitlehere." This makes it easier to remember, to find and to advertise when looking for new people to join.

Buy an ad to promote your page. This option is not free, but if you have some spare change you can start a small campaign for your page. Click "Promote with an Ad" on your page's sidebar, then fill out and alter all important information such as your page's description and payment information. The ad will be displayed on the sidebar of people using Facebook, and generally finds an audience very quickly. As you do not pay until someone clicks, you are guaranteed new people joining your page if you start a campaign, or you pay nothing. An ad campaign is not always necessary to pursuing an audience, however, so consider the other options before turning to pay for ads.
