How to Activate a New Facebook Profile
Facebook is a popular social networking website that allows users to connect and communicate with friends or family over the Internet. When you first create a Facebook account, often called a Facebook profile, you must activate it before you can begin using it. Fortunately, activating a Facebook profile is a simple and straight-forward task that only requires a few moments, as long as you have access to the email address that you registered the Facebook account with.

Create a new Facebook profile, if you haven't already. Visit facebook.com and enter your personal information into the fields beneath the "Sign Up" section. Click the "Sign Up" button. Note that the email account you enter into the "Your Email" field is the email used to activate your profile; only use an email address you have access to.

Check your inbox for the email account specified when creating your Facebook profile. Look for a message from "Facebook" with the "Just one more step to get started on Facebook" subject line. Open the email.

Click the link beneath "To complete the sign-up process, please follow this link" to activate your profile. If you cannot click the link, highlight it and copy it to your computer's clipboard. Open a new browser window, paste the link into the address bar and press "Enter."
