How to Change the Color of a Hyperlinked Text Box in PowerPoint

When you take the time to establish and create links in a PowerPoint slideshow, you want your audience to use those links. Along with PowerPoint's default blue text and underline for hyperlinks, you can capture attention for links with a color change the text box the link is in.

Instructions

    • 1

Open Microsoft PowerPoint and click the "File" tab. Select "Open." Locate the presentation with the hyperlinked text boxes and double-click the presentation file name.

    • 2

Press the Page Down (on some keyboards, Pg Dn) key, or scroll through the slide deck to get to the first text box that you want to change.

    • 3

Click anywhere in the text box to open the new orange "Drawing Tools" tab at the top of the work area.

    • 4

Click the "Shape Fill" button in the middle of the Ribbon. Click a small colored box to fill in the text box with color. Select a color that will not obscure the text.

    • 5

Scroll or press Page Down to get to the next text box to color.
