How Do You Message the Person if You're a Fan of Something on Facebook?

Type a message of gratitude to a Facebook Fan page administrator.

Everyone loves a compliment. If you see a photo, article, status update or other post on a Facebook Fan Page that you enjoy, send the page owner -- or one of its administrators who created the page -- a private message with compliments. You can contact the person, even if they have not been approved as a "Friend" on your Facebook account. To show extra appreciation, click the "Like" button below the post before sending your message.

Instructions

1. Log in to your Facebook account using your email address and password.

2. Type the name of the fan page into the search box located at the top of the screen.

3. Click on the "Info" button located under the avatar posted on the left side of the fan page.

4. Look for the heading "Basic Information" listed on the page. Hover your mouse over the email address listed. Hold down your left mouse button and drag the cursor across the text to highlight it. Release the mouse button. Press the Ctrl and C keys to copy the highlighted contact information.

5. Open your email program. Create a new email message. Place your cursor in the "To:" box at the top of the email message. Press the Ctrl and V keys to paste the contact email address.

6. Write your message into the body of the email. Name the Facebook Fan Page that you're a fan of and why you are contacting the person. Press "Send" to send your email.

Tips & Warnings

• You can send a message to an individual Facebook user by clicking on the "Message" link located under your avatar on your Facebook wall. Click on the "New Message" button on the top-right part of the screen. Enter the recipient's name in the "To:" box. Type your text in the "Message" box on the same page.

• Facebook Fan Pages do not offer the same direct messaging system used by individual Facebook users. If you prefer to not use email, you can post a message on the Facebook Fan Page Wall with a request for the administrator to contact you. The administrator may respond through the private message system using his individual Facebook account.
