Use photoshop to change faces in your pictures.

Have you ever taken a family photo and wished you could swap the head of a particular person from one picture and place it into another? While this technique is used commonly in professional publications such as advertisements and magazines, it is not a technique available strictly to professionals. With the right computer software and a little bit of patience, you can impress your family and friends with your Photoshop skills.

Instructions

  1. Replacing objects in photos

    • 1

You will need two photos. One will be the picture you are taking the head from, and the other will be the picture the head is being placed into. For easier identification, rename both pictures "head" and "body".

    • 2

With the head photograph selected, click the "lasso" tool from the left side bar. Select the area around the head very carefully, being sure to capture all of the details in the head. Once you are pleased with your selection, press "edit" "copy" to copy the head onto the clipboard.

    • 3

Open the body picture and click "edit" "paste". Place the head in the location you want it to be. Right now the image will start coming together, but will not be blended properly. Click "image" "transform". At this point you can move and re-size the head to fit perfectly onto the body.

    • 4

Select the eraser tool from the left side bar. Erase the background around the new head. When you do this, it will erase the images from the head picture and will show the background from the body picture to make the completed picture more cohesive and blended properly.

    • 5

Select the "stamp" tool along the sidebar and choose the "clone stamp". On the body photo layer, stamp around the areas of the old head to hide it from the picture.

Tips & Warnings

  • Use this technique for more than just individual heads. Replace any object in a picture with something from another photo.
