How to Make an Email HTML Signature in Mac Mail

When you send an email, there are often certain items you would like to appear at the end of every email --- a business name, an address, or a phone number, for instance. This is called an email signature, and is usually composed in HTML.

Mac's Mail application offers a way to create, edit and and use different email signatures.

Instructions

    • 1

Open the Mail application. Select "Applications," followed by "Mail."

    • 2

Open the email signatures window. From the Mail application menu, select "Mail," and "Preferences." Click the "Signatures" tab.

    • 3

Click the "+" sign below the middle window to create a new signature. The default signature appears in the right-hand window.

    • 4

Edit the signature as you would like it to appear at the bottom of your emails. If you highlight parts of the signature and right-click, the resulting menu allows you to italicize, bold and otherwise edit the fonts to fit your signature style.

Select the signature name in the middle window (you can edit this as well, if you wish) and drag it to the email account on the left to which you would like to apply it. The signature will now be applied every time you compose an email with the indicated account.
