Creating an Account

1. Create a Craigslist account. This will help smooth out the posting process and make it easier if you need to post multiple items.

2. Navigate to the Craigslist page associated with your geographic region.

3. Click "my account" in the right column.

4. Click "Sign up for an account" at the bottom of the account screen.

5. Enter your e-mail address.

6. Confirm the account by logging into your e-mail and clicking the link that was sent to you by Craigslist. This will take you to a screen where you set a password and then agree to the Craigslist terms and conditions.

Posting on Craigslist

1. Login to your Craigslist account.

2. Select the region in which you wish to post a new ad in the upper right drop-down menu.

3. Click OK.

4. Select the type of posting you wish to create. If you are selling something, select "for sale."

5. Choose the category of your item.

6. Specify the exact location of your sale.

7. Enter the posting title, price, and location. Make sure you clearly and uniquely describe your item.

8. Enter the item description. Describe your product as completely as possible. Be honest, and also make your item look appealing to potential buyers. Using photos will help greatly. This will allow buyers to get a better sense of your product.

9. Click "Continue" when you have edited your post. This will take you to a preview of your post, which you can then confirm for publication.
