How to Find Cockroaches
Cockroaches are small insects that many homeowners consider pests. You need to know what to look for if you are worried that you have a cockroach infestation in your home. Searching for evidence that you might have cockroaches does not always entail finding the little insects because they are often hard to spot. Sometimes you have to locate evidence that cockroaches have invaded by using your senses and examining spots that cockroaches like to hide in. Does this Spark an idea?

Locate the areas where cockroaches are most likely to congregate. These areas include the underside of the kitchen sink, under refrigerators, near garbage cans in cool dark cellars and areas that contain water. Examine these areas to see if you can find any cockroaches and remove the ones that you do find by wearing protective gloves and picking up the bugs. Dispose of the cockroaches by killing them.

Track the cockroach by examining the floor, walls and corners where the walls meet the floor. Cockroaches will leave their feces as a trail in the areas where they have traveled. Cockroach feces look like small, ground coffee pieces. Smell at the area the droppings are in. The cockroaches will have left a strong odor behind with the droppings.

Place sticky cockroach traps in the areas that you think a cockroach would go. Trap the cockroaches with the sticky traps.

Examine the sticky trap to see if you have a cockroach in it. If you have trapped one or two cockroaches you most likely have many more hiding elsewhere in your home.
