How to Find Windows Vista Recovery Manager

The Microsoft Windows Vista operating system is shipped with a Recovery Manager system utility. The recovery tools are included in all Microsoft Windows operating systems, and the tools function the same way in all versions of Windows. The Recovery Manager provides various recovery options, such as "Safe Mode," that assist the user in repairing the operating system, the master boot record or restoring the system to an earlier point in time.

      Press the "F8" key before the "Windows" logo displays.

      Highlight "Repair Your Computer" and press the "Enter" key. The Recovery Mode Options Menu opens. Recovery options include Safe Mode, Boot Logging, Last Known Good Configuration and Directory Services Restore Mode.
