How Can I Get My Computer to Display Pictures From Yahoo Mail?

You can download images that people send to you through email for viewing on your computer using Yahoo! Mail's "My Attachments" function. This function lists all attachments that you have received, including images, audio files and documents. The advantage of downloading your images to be viewed on your computer is that you do not have to rely on an Internet connection for future viewing. Once you have the images stored on your hard drive, you can view them at any time.

Instructions

    • 1

Log in to your Yahoo! Mail account.

    • 2

Click "My Attachments" located on the left side of the page.

    • 3

Click the blue "Photo View" link beneath the "Search Results" header.

    • 4

Click the checkbox to the left of each photo that you want to download to your computer.

    • 5

Click the gray "Save to Computer" button located at the bottom of the page.

    • 6

      Click "Start," then click "Computer."

    • 7

Click the drop-down box at the top of the Windows Explorer window that opens. Click your Windows account name.

    • 8

      Click the folder labeled "Downloads."

    • 9

Scroll down the list of downloaded folders until you see an image that you want to display on-screen.

    • 10

Right-click the image, then click "Preview" to open the image in Windows Photo Viewer.

Tips & Warnings

  • If for some reason the images are not stored in your "Downloads" folder, click "Start" and type one of the file names into the search box at the bottom of the window.

  • If you know the extension of the images, you can locate them quickly from within the "Downloads" folder. Type the extension into the search box in the upper-right corner of the Windows Explorer window.
