Instructions

    • 1

Purchase postcard paper. Postcards without images on the front, that solely feature markings on the back for the stamp and address placement, can be purchased at any art or paper supply store. You can also choose to buy plain paper and add your own markings. Standard postcard size is 5.1 by 3.1 inches.

    • 2

Create and select images for the postcards. Stick to a theme, such as the geographical location where they will be sold or your own personal artwork. This will help your cards to stand out, gain recognition, and sell.

    • 3

Transfer your images to a computer. Scan them in, if they have been created by hand, and upload any photographs.

    • 4

Resize the images, using your computer's photo viewing/editing program. Size them to 5.1 by 3.1 inches, or ½ to 1 inch less if you would like a border to surround the image.

    • 5

Create a logo that will represent your business on the postcards. Keep this simple, so as to not overpower the image or take up too much space. In a word processing program, type your name or your business's name, and your website or contact number. Select the text and alter the font to your liking.

    • 6

Copy the new logo by hitting the "Ctrl" and "A" keys on your keyboard, followed by the "Ctrl" and "C" keys.

    • 7

Open in the word processing program one image that you plan to print onto a postcard.

    • 8

Hit the "Ctrl" and "V" keys on your keyboard or right click and select "Paste."

    • 9

Move the logo to the top right hand corner of your image by clicking and dragging it with your cursor.

    • 10

Save the current file to a location on your computer, or an external device, for future use.

    • 11

Place the blank postcard paper into your printer and turn the printer on.

    • 12

Navigate to "File" and "Print" in the word processing program. Edit the paper size to 5. by 3.1 inches or the size of your postcard paper.

    • 13

Click "Print." Repeat steps 6 through 13 for each subsequent image.
