How to Color With Copic Markers
Copic markers are artist markers with alcohol-based inks. They can be purchased in art supply stores, or ordered directly form Copic's website, CopicMarker.com. The markers are sold individually or in sets. Copic markers feature both refillable inks and replaceable nibs, which can be bought through any dealer who sells the markers. There are more than 200 colors of Copic markers available, and the company offers a guarantee that two markers of the same color will blend seamlessly.

1
Draw your sketch using a pencil or drawing pen. For best results, use a Copic drawing pen with alcohol-based ink so the sketch does not smear or contaminate the markers.
-
2
Uncap the wider nib of the marker. This end usually says "broad." Use this end to fill in large areas of color. Replace the cap when finished.
-
-
3
Uncap the "fine" end of the marker. This end has a narrow, pointed nib. Add shadows, highlights and fine details with this nib. Replace the cap when finished.
-
4
Add colored pencil or other types of media after the markers are completely dry. Because the ink is alcohol based, this should only take a couple of minutes.
