Go to myYearbook and log in to your account.

Click the "Buddy List" at the bottom right of any myYearbook page to view friends who are online. If you see a green circle next to one of your friends, it means he is online.

Double-click the friend you want to IM to launch the chat window. Enter your IM message in the text box and press "Enter" to start an IM conversation. When you send an IM, it appears in the chat window. When your friend replies, the message also appears in the window.
