How to Calculate a Sixth Pay
Calculating a fraction of your pay can assist you in your household budgeting tasks. For instance, maybe you wish to figure out what your pay will be on a quarterly, or bi-monthly basis, in order to get an interim report on where your finances will stand at any given point in the year. Another possible use would be if you are planning to change jobs at a know point in the future, and need to calculate what your pay will be up to that point. To figure a sixth of your pay, start with a pay stub and calculate based on the periodicity of your pay.

Divide your annual wage by six if you have that figure. For a salary of $42,000, one-sixth pay is $7,000.
-
2
Multiply a monthly pay figure by 2 to figure one-sixth of annual pay. A monthly salary of $3,000 would be $6,000 as one-sixth of your annual pay.

3
Multiply a weekly pay figure by 52, then divide it by 6 to calculate one-sixth of your annual pay for this option. If your weekly salary is $550, that makes your annual pay $28,600. One-sixth of that comes to around $4,767.

4
Multiply a bi-weekly pay figure by 26, then divide it by 6 to calculate one-sixth of your annual pay for this option. If your bi-weekly salary is $900, that makes your annual pay $23,400. One-sixth of that is $3,900.

5
Break one-sixth pay down from an hourly wage by dividing the hourly rate by 6. Thus, for an hourly pay of $18.00, one-sixth is $3.00. You can multiply this rate by the hours worked to figure one-sixth pay for any give work period.
