ODesk is a global online outsourcing service that connects employers to freelancers. It is a flexible marketplace for individuals and organizations to trade services by matching skilled freelancers with paying employers. ODesk allows freelancers to bill their services by the number of hours put into a project. Employers can abide by these hourly contracts or dispute the number of hours billed by the freelancer. ODesk allows an employer four days after the end of the billing period to dispute the hours billed by a freelancer.

Sign in to your oDesk account.

Click on the “My Jobs” link.

Click “Contracts” on your “My Jobs” page. Find the freelancer whose billing hours you wish to dispute in the list of your contracts.

Click the freelancer’s name in the "Contractor" column.

Navigate to the “Hours Worked” section. Click the “Dispute” link.

Fill out the dispute form with additional details of the particular contractor, job and dispute and submit the form. An email will be sent to your inbox informing you that you have successfully filed a dispute and that the contractor has received a notice of the dispute.
