How to Eliminate Recurring Updates

Recurring updates on your Windows 7 computer are controlled through the Control Panel. The automatic updates on your system scan your computer for software and hardware updates. If you would like to turn off the recurring updates on your system, you can change the frequency or turn them off complete. You don't have to be a computer technician to turn off the updates on your system. You can do it yourself with little knowledge of the computer.

Instructions

1. Click the "Start" button, then type "Windows Update" into the search box.

2. Press the "Enter" button, then click on the "Windows Update" icon.

3. Click on the "Change Settings" option on the left side of the window.

4. Click on the "Turn Off Updates" option from the menu.

5. Click the "OK" button to save the settings.
