How to Test for ESP
ESP, or extrasensory perception is the ability to obtain information through means other than the five normal senses of sight, sound, touch, taste or smell. ESP is often called the sixth sense, and believed to include activities such as mental telepathy, clairvoyance and the awareness of past, future and current events. While ESP has never been conclusively proved, there are tests used to evaluate one's telepathic abilities. One of the most common tests involves the use of Zener cards. Zener cards are a deck of 25 cards with five different symbols. The symbols include a square, a circle, a cross, a star and three wavy lines.

1
Sit in a comfortable position. Try to completely relax all muscles while clearing the mind of all distractions. Visualize a beautiful scene, such as an ocean setting. Continue until all muscles are completely relaxed and the mind is quiet.
-
2
Signal the assistant that you are ready. Shuffling the 25 Zener cards, the assistant draws one, and concentrates on the selected image. Allow the image to drift into your mind without coercing it. When you feel the image is the same as the selected image, compare with the card selected by the assistant. Go through the entire deck five times, and keep a record of the results. This will indicate your ability to receive thoughts.

3
Trade roles with the assistant while maintaining a relaxed body, and quiet mind. Shuffle the cards and select one. Look at the image. Close your eyes. Visualize the image as clearly as possible. Compare the card with the image the assistant receives. Go through the entire deck five times and record the results. This test will indicate your ability to send thoughts.

Tally the scores of the tests. Any score up to 20 percent, attribute to chance. Scoring above 20 percent is getting beyond the realm of chance. Repeat the tests over time to see if your score increases.
