How to Edit an AIM Nickname
AOL Instant Messenger (AIM) offers a variety of features that allow you to show your personality through instant messenger. One way to do this is to create a fun look for your user name. Though you cannot change your user name, you can add spaces and different capitalization to your name to make it appear fun or to separate words. AOL also allows you to change your display nickname at any point. This is the name associated with your AOL screen name.

Log in to your AIM account with your user name and password.

Click the "Options" menu to change the look of your screen name. Click "AIM" and then "Format My User Name." Type your user name as you want it to appear, and click "Save."

Click your current nickname in the box in the top left corner of your buddy list. Type your name as you want it to appear, and press "Enter" (or click on other areas of the screen to save the changes).
