How to Draw an Anthro Fox
Anthropomorphism is giving an inanimate object or animal human qualities. This art style has been around for a long time, and while it may seem strange to some, it often has been used to create memorable characters in children's cartoons and movies. Disney is known for creating anthropomorphic creatures that have endearing and almost human personas; for example, Robin Hood and Maid Marian, Baloo, or even Dr. Doppler from the film "Treasure Planet." You can create your own anthropomorphic fox with a little inspiration from the human and natural world.

1
Draw a small horizontal oval nose on the center right side of the page. Draw two parallel straight lines from the right and left side of the oval extending to what will be the top of the anthro fox's head. The top line should be slightly longer than the bottom.
-
2
Draw a curved line extending from the top parallel line to create a rounded head. Add a diamond shaped ear to the center of the head. Sketch jagged edges on the rear of the skull, forming the side face.
-
-
3
Draw a slightly angled 2 x 3/4 inch line from the side of the face to below the nose. Draw a short upward line at the end of the jawline to create the anthro fox's mouth. Turn the line inwards towards the face creating the bottom lip. Connect a top line to the bottom lip line. Attach this line to the center of the nose.
-
4
Draw a curved neckline from the back and front of the head. Extend the back neckline 4.5 inches to the waist. Connect a 2-inch semi-straight line to the back waist.
-
5
Sketch a rounded shoulder at the base of the neck. Overlap the front neckline and shoulder. Extend the shoulder line one-half inch before making a sharp curve, similar to a wide backwards C. Draw the other side of the shoulder one-half inch from the front portion of the shoulder. Draw two inwardly curved parallel lines that represent muscles. Allow the line closest to the back to extend slightly below the front line to create the elbow.
-
6
Sketch two more parallel lines that mirror each other to create the forearm. Allow the forearm to narrow at the wrist. Draw a closed hand.
-
7
Sketch rounded breasts that extend slightly below the wrist to the bottom of the front shoulder. Draw a line connected to the bottom forearm area. Curve this line inward and extend it to the bottom of the page. Create a near parallel line from the elbow to render the stomach fur pattern.
-
8
Add a wide bushy tail. Draw the top line of the tail starting at the mid-center of the fox's bottom. Allow the line to swoop downwards and cross over the fox's lower body. Extend the end of the line upwards and past the outside edge of the fox about one inch. Add another line that follows the curve of the fox's bottom in order to create the upper edge of the fox's tail. Connect the two lines with a sharp point.
-
9
Add a triangular eye socket to complete the face. The eye should mimic the side angle of a human eye. Draw the pupil and iris. Shade the iris.
-
10
Shade the face, back, arm and tail sections. Use short and soft strokes for the body, and hard, swift strokes for the tail.
-
11
Add bangs that extend past the anthro fox's forehead, and hair that flows to the fox's waist. Use curved and short lines to create texture.
