1
Measure the total length of your hammock in feet and subtract 1 to 2 feet from the measurement. Locate two spots on two separate walls that are the same distance apart, which is where you will mount the hardware for the indoor hammock.
-
2
Place a stepladder near the first location and hold a stud finder up to the wall 6 to 8 feet above the floor. Move the stud finder to the left or right until a light appears, indicating the presence of wall stud. Make a mark with a pencil and then slide the stud finder 1 or 2 more inches until you locate the end of the stud. Repeat the process to locate a stud on the opposite hanging location.

3
Insert a 5/16-inch drill bit into a drill and create a 1-inch deep hole in each wall stud location.
-
4
Insert the threaded end of an eye bolt, which looks like a screw, into one hole and turn it clockwise using your hand until you can no longer turn it. Then insert a screwdriver through the loop and turn it two to three more times to tighten it.
-
5
Install the second eye bolt in the opposite wall location just as you did with the first.
-
6
Locate the clasp at one end of the hammock and slip it through the loop in one of the eye bolts. Place the opposite hammock clasp through the opposite eye bolt. If your hammock has no clasps, insert a metal "S" hook into the loops and hang the hooks onto the eye bolt loops.
