How to Get Settled Into Your New Place
Settling into a new place is not an easy process. Once you've unpacked, organized all your household items and your checklist is completed then it's time to familiarize yourself with your new neighborhood and throw a house warming party.

Create a checklist and mark off tasks you have completed. Organize each box of that is marked for each room in by placing it the right room. For example, if the box is marked kitchen, place the box in the kitchen.

Unpack and get a feel for your new surroundings, so that you are able to arrange your furniture in terms of comfort and functionality. Be prepared to arrange and rearrange your furniture until you are completely satisfied. Remove items of furniture that do not work with your living space, and consider buying new ones, if needed. Look for budget-friendly furniture stores in your neighborhood.

Help your family, roommate or significant other adjust to your new place by doing activities that you are familiar with like playing games, watching movies and listening to music that you both enjoy.

Go for a walk around your neighborhood, to reduce any anxiety you may have. If you see your new neighbors, stop and introduce yourself to them.

Have a house warming party and invite friends and family to your new place. Invite your neighbors over to get know them better and maybe develop new relationships. Make the party potluck and have everyone bring a dish.

Step back into the routine of things. Do the things you enjoy doing on a regular basis. If you go for a walk or run at particular time in the morning, stick with the same schedule.

Tips & Warnings
Be armed with a map and write down your new address, so that you don't get lost.
Do not invite people over to your new place without getting to know them first. Make sure you have completely unpacked all your boxes before inviting your family and friends over to your place.
