How to Install a Stainless Steel Toe Kick

Many kitchens sport an area along the bottom of the cabinets known as a toe kick. While most homeowners decide to leave the area as is, some choose to decorate the area with a toe kick plate. The addition of stainless steel and toe kicks made from other materials is considered by designers as a European touch in kitchen remodeling. Modern materials make it simple to install a stainless steel toe kick with the help of a few simple tools.

Things You'll Need

• Tape measure
• Utility knife
• Self-adhesive stainless steel toe kick plate cover

Instructions

1. Measure the width of the toe kick area you wish to cover with a stainless steel toe kick cover.

2. Score the back of the stainless steel self-adhesive cover with a utility knife to mark the correct length.

3. Snap the cover at the score mark.

4. Peel off the adhesive backing.

5. Fit one of the corners of the cover snugly against the corner of the toe plate and push down firmly beginning at one corner and running your hand down the length to the other side.
