You want to read a Kindle ebook, but you do not have a Kindle? Amazon has a solution for you: you can download the free Kindle application for your computer, iPod touch or iPhone. The app lets you browse, purchase and download ebooks as if you had a Kindle reader. Additionally, you can download any ebook or document in your Kindle account through the app.

Instructions

  1. From the iPhone

      Open the Kindle app on your iPhone.

      Click the "Edit" button (if you have a book open in the app).

      Click the "Archived Items" link to see the books and documents you have stored on your Amazon account.

      Click on the book or document you want to download. You will see a progress bar showing you the download status.

      Click the "Home" button to go to the list of books and documents you have on the iPhone.

    From your Amazon account

      Go to Amazon.com.

    • 7

      Click the "Manage Your Kindle" link.

      Log into your Amazon account, if necessary.

      Scroll to the "Your Orders" section.

      Click the "Previous," "Next" or "Page Number" links to locate the book or document you want to download to your iPhone.

      Select your iPhone from the "Deliver To" drop-down list. Your document or e-book will download to your iPhone.
