How to Convert Mobipocket Files to the Kindle
The Amazon Kindle uses the .azw format as its default file format for e-books. This format is almost identical to the .mobi format used by the MobiPocket, as Amazon purchased Mobi. You do not need to convert your MobiPocket books to a different format before adding them to your Kindle. As long as the .mobi file does not have digital rights management, you can add it to your Kindle.
