How to Interview at a Hotel Job Fair
If you are interested in getting a job in the hospitality industry, a hotel job fair may help you. A job fair typically is just one employer, which is different from a career fair that features multiple employers. If you attend a hotel job fair, expect to be interviewed on the spot for any of the open positions you are interested in. You may even be offered a position on the spot.

1
Print multiple copies of your resume before you leave for the hotel job fair. It is better to have too many copies than not enough. Typically the job fair advertisement has a list of all the positions available, which allows you to get a count of the approximate number of resumes to bring. Bring at least two resume copies for each position.
-
2
Dress in professional attire, such as a dress, slacks or suit, for your interview. Even though a job fair may seem more relaxed, dress for an interview in the same manner as if you were attending an interview in an office building.

3
Arrive at the hotel job fair during the operating hours, but not at the last minute so that you have time to meet with hiring managers. Typically the different departments have different tables for you to check in at.
-
4
Walk up to the tables for the departments or jobs that you are interested in. Let the person at the table know which position you are interested in and offer a copy of your resume. You will likely be given an application to complete before meeting with the hiring manager for the interview.

5
Give the interviewer a copy of your resume, if it is not the same person you already gave a copy to. Express your interest in the open position and give a summary of your background and qualifications for the position. Honestly answer any questions from the interviewer.
