How to Put Two Pictures Side by Side With Words in the Middle
Whether you're creating a poster for an event, making a flier for your business or are just looking to put together a unique greeting card, it's a straightforward process to add images and text to a single document using a desktop publishing program. You can then save the document you created for sending as an email or printing.

1
Launch your desktop publishing program and create a new project from the "File" menu.
-
2
Click on the "Picture box" or "Picture frame" icon in the tool palette and create two picture boxes in your project by clicking on an empty area in your new document and dragging the cursor diagonally. You can resize your boxes by clicking on the markers around the perimeter of the boxes, and dragging in your chosen direction. Leave enough space in between your picture frames to add a text box.

Click on the "Content" icon in the tool palette, right-click in one of your picture boxes and select "Get picture" to locate the image you want to use if you're using QuarkXPress. You can then right-click on your picture and decide whether you want to fit it to the picture box you made, or resize the frame to fit your picture by selecting the respective options displayed. If you're using InDesign, you'll need to click on the "Selection" tool from your tool palette, click on your picture frame and then select the "Place" command from the "File" menu to navigate to the image you want to use. You can then hover over the "Fitting" option in the "Object" menu to choose sizing options. Repeat the process to import your second image.

4
Select the "Text" box or frame icon from your tool palette and draw a text box in between your two picture boxes.
-
5
Click on the "Content" tool in QuarkXPress or the "Text" tool in InDesign and click inside of your text box. You can then enter your text using your keyboard or by cutting and pasting from another document or source. You can alter the font, point size or color of your text by highlighting it and changing the parameters in the text tool palette.
