How to: Crafts From Pop Caps
If you recycle your glass pop bottles, don't let your eco-friendly efforts stop there. Reuse the bottle caps by turning them into creative craft projects. You can transform the bottle caps into pins and magnets that look like they came from a specialty boutique. Make the small crafts in batches, saving some for yourself and giving a few away as holiday and birthday gifts. Customize the items to reflect the recipients' favorite colors and designs.
Things You'll Need
- Cloth or paper towel
- Newspaper
- Tacky craft glue
- Toothpick
- Small embellishments, such as rhinestones and beads
- Tweezers
- Hot glue gun
- Pin backings or magnets

Wash the pop bottle caps in warm soapy water and dry them with a cloth or paper towel. Cover a work surface with newspaper. Set the bottle caps onto the paper, rim sides up.

Squeeze a small amount of tacky craft glue into the bottoms of the bottle caps. Spread the glue evenly using a toothpick.

Pick up small rhinestones and beads using tweezers and press them into the bottle caps. Choose heart, flower or letter-shaped beads, depending on the theme. Pick shiny rhinestones or gold and silver beads to create a glamorous look. Arrange the embellishments in a single layer to create your design.

Allow the bottle caps to dry overnight. Use a hot glue gun to attach pin backings or pieces of magnet to the backs of the decorated bottle caps.
